Sophia Birthday Card and Bookmark

Every Sunday my husband does a podcast for his hockey website. While he does that I play with paper, ink and stamps! Last Sunday I made a few bookmarks and birthday cards. I used the Sophia papers for the ones posted here. I’m not stuck in a rut with Sophia, but it’s one of the paper packets that will be retired with the new 2012 Spring/Summer Idea Book so I just feel the need to play around with it!   Instructions for the corner bookmark can be found on the Splitcoaststampers website. These bookmarks are a great way to use up scraps of your patterned papers.

Happy Thoughts with Sophia

This is a simple but sweet card made with one of the Sophia patterned papers. It’s based on today’s Mojo Monday sketch.  I used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the flower. The Sophia paper packet is only available until the new Idea Book is released to customers on February 1, 2012. And speaking of the new Idea Book, I got mine on Christmas Eve (it’s always released to consultants about a month before it goes live) and there are some fantastic new papers, stamp sets and embellishments! I’ll be posting more about the new Idea Book in January!

Supplies are all Close To My Heart unless otherwise specified:
Paper: Sophia B&Ts, White Daisy and Hollyhock cardstock
Stamps: Baby Love (B1368)
Ink: Hollyhock
Other: Dotted Blush ribbon (retired), Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge, Martha Stewart border punch

My Creations Memory Showcase Album - Good Times

This is an album I created for my niece's baby boy.  I know she can fill it with great pictures of him!.  I used an old paper packet from CTMH called Good Times; still one of my favorites!  The album was designed by Susie Rostad and I changed up very few things.   She used a 9"x9" album and I used a 6"x6" album.

I also created a card and a Flip Flap booklet.  I used the 4" x 6" Memory Protectors Flip Flaps and made front and back covers with cardstock and the Good Times paper and reinforced the spine by placing cardstock between each Flip Flap.  Super quick and easy.

All supplies are Close To My Heart® unless otherwise specified:

Paper: Good Times B&Ts , Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, Twilight and Colonial White cardstock
Stamps: Star Struck, Childhood, It’s a Zoo, Pennant Alphabet
Ink: Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, Buttercup, Twilight
Exclusive Inks Marker: Chocolate
Other: My Creations Memory Showcase Album, Memory Protectors Flip Flaps, Chocolate Ribbon, Assorted Buttons, Embroidery Floss, Waxy Flax, Sizzix® Die Cut machine (star shapes), Cricut® (circle shapes), Marvy Uchida scalloped circle punch, Velcro Sticky Back closure

Roxie, Typeset and Elemental Cards - Oh My!

I needed a break from Christmas cards so I broke out the December Stamp of the Month (SOTM) which is geared toward love and Valentine’s Day. I think it pairs beautifully with the Roxie paper packet! Here’s what I came up with!

Supplies are all Close To My Heart unless otherwise specified:
Paper: Roxie B&Ts, Black, Desert Sand, Kraft and Colonial White cardstock
Inks: Black, Smoothie
Stamps: Mad About You (December SOTM)
Other: Milepost Shapes, Sparkles, 3D Foam Tape, Memory Book Glue Dots, Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge, Martha Stewart border punch
I decided that I wasn’t done playing around, so I took a look at The Sweet Stop weekly card challenge and grabbed my Typeset papers for the following card.  The corrugated arrow is a Milepost Shape from Close To My Heart.  There are also stars (I used a star on the Roxie card above-left and added a stamped heart over the top of it), brackets, circles … and more! They are fun shapes that add a little dimension. I just ink them using a sponge and they are good to go!
Paper: Typeset B&Ts, Kraft, Juniper and Colonial White cardstock
Inks: Cocoa
Stamps: Typeset WOTG, Blue Ribbon
Other: Milepost Shapes, 3D Foam Tape, Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge, EK Success border punch
Well, I figured since I was on a roll I’d grab my Elemental paper packet and make another super quick card!  Somehow, it's back to Christmas cards!  This was a Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It’s the same sketch I used for the square Roxie card above. There are so many sketch challenge websites! I love them all. I don’t have to stress out about what design to use – just have to decide on a paper packet!
Paper: Elemental B&Ts, Kraft and Colonial White cardstock
Inks: Olive and Cranberry
Stamps: Christmas Love
Other: Bitty Sparkles, 3D Foam Tape, Cranberry button, Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge, Baker’s Twine (We R Memory Keepers)

December 25th - Believe

I just can't get enough of the Believe paper packet!  Here's another card, this one is based on today's Mojo Monday sketch.

Supplies are all Close To My Heart:
Paper: Believe B&Ts, Wings B&Ts, White Daisy, Sweet Leaf and Holiday Red cardstock
Stamp: Believe WOTG
Inks: Holiday Red, Topiary
Other: 3D Foam Tape, White Daisy Brads

Believe and Wonderland Cards

Here are two of the cards I created today.  The first was inspired by the Sweet Stop weekly card challenge sketch.  I used papers and a stamp from the Close To My Heart (CTMH) Believe Worshop on the Go kit.

Supplies are all CTMH unless otherwise specified:

Paper: Believe B&Ts, Holiday Red and White Daisy cardstock
Stamp: Believe WOTG
Inks: Black
Exclusive Inks Markers: Holiday Red, New England Ivy, Buttercup, Vanilla Cream, Grey Flannel
Other: Ribbon – Holiday Collection (retired), Martha Stewart border punch
The second card was created with papers from the Wonderland paper packet.  The Let it Snow border was cut from the edge of the 12x12 paper - so cool that CTMH has added that strip to each patterned paper.  I also used one of the CTMH Top Coats Icing overlays (actually, I cut a large snowflake overlay in half and just used that on the card - and made an identicial card using the other half!).  I used a border punch on the bottom front of the card and added a strip of coordinating paper to the inside of the card so that it shows behind the border.

Paper: Wonderland B&Ts, White Daisy cardstock
Inks: Twilight
Other: Top Coats Icing overlay, Sparkles, Bitty Sparkles, Fiskars border punch
