2012 Spring/Summer Idea Book is Here!

Can't wait any longer to see it all?  Here's a link to the online 2012 Spring/Summer Idea Book.

Elemental Owl Treat Wrapper & Card

Amy Helms, one of the many talented CTMH consultants, has a video tutorial on her blog for this adorable Owl Treat Wrapper.  When I saw it I just had to make it!  She has hers wrapped around a single-serving bag of chips.  I used the same papers she does in the tutorial, just used Velcro fasteners where she used a tape adhesive to fasten the front.  I also used 3D Foam Tape under the sentiment.  I plan on making more of these with different papers!  Amy has other tutorials that I’m sure you’ll like.  Check out Amy's blog!

I made this super quick card tonight too.  It think it makes kind of a nice, masculine Valentine!

Roxie Wedding Layout

This is almost an exact copy of a layout in the Close To My Heart 2011 Autumn/Winter Idea Book.  It's on page 23; I liked it the first time I saw it and thought that this black and white photo from my son's wedding would work well with it.  I used the Cricut to cut out the word "perfect" and added the My Stickease rose in the corner.  The film stip is a stamped image.  I used a hole punch and ran some ribbon through it just like in the Idea Book!  There's a stick pin from the Bling Assortment stuck in the bow (it had a white pearl at the top - I used a black permanent marker to change it's color!).

In the Idea Book, they used a spary pen on the Colonial White cardstock and inked the edges of the layout in black but I wanted a cleaner look so I chose to leave mine un-inked!  The plaid paper on the left and right are not part of the layout, just there to ensure you can actually see the edges of my page!  I'm finding that when I use white or colonial white backgrounds on cards and layouts they don't show up real well against the white background in my photo box!

All supplies Close To My Heart unless otherwise specified:
Paper:  Roxie B&Ts, Colonial White and Black cardstock
Stamps:  Instant Memories
Ink:  Black, Smoothie
Other:  Canvas Badge Button, Opaques Adhesive Gems - Licorice, Bling Assortment, Designer Ribbon - Pink Collection, Roxie My Stickease Assortment, 3D Foam Tape, Corner Rounder (removed the guard and used it to create the scalloped edge), Cricut, Sure Cuts A Lot, Harlow Solid Italic font

Roxie - 31st Anniversary Layout

I created this layout using a pattern from Jeanette Lynton’s book titled Magic, Interactive Scrapbooks that Dazzle and Delight. The pattern is called Magician’s Choice.

I had a hard time deciding which Roxie papers I wanted to use and this layout allowed me to mix and match. I was able to use most of the patterned papers! Because CTMH does such an amazing job with their paper packets I figure that no matter which patterned papers in a packet I use, they will look great together!

I created the titles using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and Newsprint Rub-ons. Now all I have to do is take photos on Valentine’s Day and add them. I decorated the pages to accommodate a 6” x 6” photo and two 3” x 3” photos on the left-hand page as well as three 3” x 3” photos on the right-hand page.

All Supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper: Roxie B&Ts, Smoothie and Colonial White Cardstock
Ink: Desert Sand
Other: Newsprint Rub-Ons, Black Hemp, Designer Ribbon - Red Collection, Designer Brads - Rhinestone, Black Button Brads, 3D Foam Tape, Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge

Dreamin' Valentine

I used a sketch from the Verve challenge at Splitcoast Stampers to design this card, but used the suggestion from The Sweet Stop challenge to create a non-traditional Valentine.  I chose the Dreamin' paper packet.  I love the color combo!  I even used the zip strip from the edge of one of the papers (it's the little strip with the colored circles).  The Dreamin' paper packet will not be carried over to the new 2012 Spring/Summer Idea Book which is available February 1st.  If you're a fan of the Dreamin' paper packet, order now from my CTMH website!

All supplies are Close To My Heart:
Paper: Dreamin’ B&Ts, Colonial White, Goldrush, and Pacifica cardstock
Stamps: Love Life (heart), Soul Mates (xoxo)
Ink: Pacifica, Goldrush, Chocolate
Other: 2” Scallop Circle Punch, 1 ¼” Circle Punch, Zip strip, 3D Foam Tape

Love Your Layout - January 2012 Video

To go along with this month's special, "A Perfect 10 for Studio J Members", here's a great little video!

Family - Our Greatest Gift

This Christmas layout was created with paper and embellishments from the Believe Workshop on the Go kit. The CTMH exclusive Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge was used to create the tag and Christmas trees that make up the titles as well as the accent on the left-hand page.  I used Believe My Stickease for the text on the far right of the layout.  This layout sure looks better in person!  Don't know what happened with the camera - couldn't be the photographer, could it?  Still a novice when it comes to the photography and the photo-editing!

Supplies are all Close To My Heart unless otherwise specified:
Paper: Believe B&Ts, Wings B&Ts, Sweet Leaf, Holiday Red, White Daisy, Kraft and Topiary cardstock
Stamps: Believe WOTG, Pennant Alphabet, Tiny Typewriter Alphabet
Ink: Topiary, Holiday Red, New England Ivy, Black and Chocolate
Other: Olive Mini Medleys, Topiary button, Color Ready Alphabet - Bold, 3D Foam Tape, Sponge Dauber, Blending Pen, Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge, Star brads (the Paper Studio), Baker’s Twine (We R Memory Keepers), Fiskars Border Punch
